Our Mission:
The Isabella County Democratic County works to build a community to elect and support Democrats in our city, villages, townships, county and state offices who share and promote the democratic values of justice, equity, diversity, fair wages, stewardship, and voting access. We work to elect Democratic candidates to ensure that our community needs are prioritized. Through our efforts, we aim to create positive change and improve the lives of all residents.
Our Plan of Action:
2024 was a crossroads for our democracy and we feel our country chose the wrong path. We must now ask ourselves an difficult question:
How do we build a stronger community and guide it in the direction we want it to go in the future?
The immediate future is uncertain, so we must find strength in each other in the present by making certain physical and emotional needs are met. The next two years politically will be used to build a stronger state government with new officials being elected in 2026 and help create new guardrails for the federal govenment by changing the make up of congress. To do this we must:
Stengthen our local community with outreach and events designed to foster shared goals.
Protect our most vulnerable populations.
Develop relationships with Democratic Parties in other counties.
Find strong candidates that can speak to the challenges of everyday Michiganders.
Take back our local governments and school boards.
Educate the local population, especially if they don’t necessarily agree with us.
Challenge our elected officials to make choices that benefit the whole rather than the few.
Shape our state party so that we can be a strong opposition to extreme elements in our govenment.
